This dance festival is held at several locations in Amsterdam and is a must for all to see. This festival promises to present authentic material from the choreographers and dancers. In these unique performances, they are searching for links to the developments on the world stage whilst still maintaining and drawing on their own social environment and cultures.

Dancing on the Edge is about many nations with many stories, with the artists presenting a very personal and quite often a most startling insight into the society and culture in other countries. There is also a fringe programme running in conjunction with these dance performances with events that include debates, dance films, talks by artist's and many more.

Amsterdam is known as one of the most important cultural centres in Europe and its role as a Festival City is a very important one. This city fully deserves its title of Festival City as it does host more than 75 festivals per year. The spirit of the city stretches outside of the city limits with the surrounding areas in the countryside thriving with so much to see and do. If you do not want to stay in the hustle and bustle of the city then you can travel outside of it and stay in a hotel in Amsterdam's wonderful countryside.
