Open Mind launches the UK’s most comprehensive website of learning resources

Open Mind is demonstrating its encyclopaedic knowledge of learning resources available via all delivery media through its newly revised website:

The specialist distributor launched the UK’s first e-commerce site for learning resources in 2000. The new website lists over 4,000 titles from 130 producers, indexed against 160 topics – all contained within a simplified, user-friendly design.

Alun Harvey, of Open Mind, commented: "We’ve designed the site like a ‘shop window’ to make it easy for trainers to find the solution that they need to meet their, or their organisation’s, training needs.

"In particular, the site highlights learning resources covering hot topics like diversity, performance coaching, languages, IT and sales training, as well as health & safety. There is also a separate section on new titles, and another on special offers.

"The heart of the site, as before, is an Online Store containing details of over 4,000 resources in all media. The secure site allows online purchasing with payment either by credit card or company invoice for account holders."

The Open Mind website contains details of learning resources delivered via all types of media – including e-learning, CD-ROM, DVD, video, audio, games, activity packs, assessment instruments, books, workbooks.

The Online Store includes ‘famous names’ such as Video Arts as well as those from niche producers on specialist subjects. Product prices range from less than £10 to around £1,000 and the site contains over 800 special offers, allowing customers to buy learning resources to suit their budget.

The website is free to use and visitors can browse the site’s Online Store. Moreover, all visitors have the chance to win a new, state-of-the-art 30Gb video iPod.

"There will always be news of the latest releases and special offers on the website’s home page," Harvey pointed out. "But those who want to delve deeper into the site will be rewarded with industry news and views as well as access to the most comprehensive catalogue of learning resources in the UK."
