The 90ft main dome of Tokyo Designers Week main venue at Meiji Jingu Gaien has just been completed. Staff have been literally working round the clock to ensure Tokyo Designers Week 2010 is the biggest and best event yet. On Friday October 29th doors will open to the public. (Tickets \2000).

The theme for 2010, the 25th Anniversary of Tokyo Designers Week is gLove Blueh, gEnvironment x Designh. The choice of gBlueh symbolizes a shift from last years ecological gGreenh theme.

Blue represents nature as well as human wisdom and the combination of the two translate into modern technology. Meaning more than gEcoh, Blue represents a more holistic idea of gEnvironmenth, which provides the conditions for our minds and bodies to flourish.

Blue will cover Tokyo, blue flags will be installed along the main gate and blue carpet will cover all pathways. At the center will be the TDW dome, the symbol of the event. The dome will host events and performances, with movies and imagery projected on the interior.

Creative director Gwenael Nicolas, founder of award winning multi-disciplinary studio CURIOSITY designed the whole concept for TDW 2010, from the iconic logo to the whole layout of the TDW venue.

The TDW Bar is a key part of TDW that attracts attention every year as the contents symbolize the TDW theme. This year will be TERASU BAR designed by Gwenael Nicolas around gSmart Chandelierh LED light bulbs by TRI-TERASU. The goal was to create an exhibition space that visitors will be drawn to, where innovative designs and people can meet. Food and drinks will be provided by Pronto.
