New York, NY -- May Sky Inc., the Poughkeepsie, New York based advertising and communications agency has been awarded the APEX 2005 Award of Excellence in the Print Ads & Advetorial category for its print advertising for the New York City Landmark restaurant, Gallagher's Steak House.

The 17th annual APEX 2005 Awards for Publication Excellence is an international competition that recognizes outstanding publications from newsletters and magazines to annual reports, print ads, brochures and Web sites. Sponsored by Communications Concepts, Inc., publishers of business communication reports, the APEX Awards honor writers, editors, publications staff and business and nonprofit communicators. The awards were based on excellence in graphic design, quality of editorial content and the success of the entry in conveying the message and achieving overall communications effectiveness. Awards were given in 109 communications categories, and in 11 main categories including: print ads and advertorials; newsletters; magazines and journals; magazines and newspapers; annual reports; brochures, manuals and reports; video and electronic publications; Web and intranet sites; campaigns, programs and
plans; writing; design and illustration, and special publications.

May Sky's winning entry was selected from 4,942 submissions sent in from around the world. The winning May Sky Gallagher's campaign features the city's newest rising stars of business dining at the same Gallagher's Steak House tables once occupied by senators and presidents. The campaign first appeared in November of 2004.

Darren Press, president and creative director of May Sky Inc., created the campaign. Commenting on the series of ads and winning the APEX Award, Press said, "The campaign focuses on real people because Gallagher's stock in trade-in addition to its dry aged USDA Prime beef - has always been the restaurant's news-making clientele from the business world." He continued to say, "I am very proud of the agency's work in creating these ads and salute the tremendous people of Gallagher's who not only serve the finest steak in New York, but who also make the creative process so fulfilling."

Over the course of the campaign, more than 10 accomplished young business leaders have been profiled in the ads. The advertisements are running in the New York Times, Crain's NY Business, the NY Law Journal and other business publications.

"Everywhere you turn at Gallagher's, you're reminded of New York City's past," Press said, noting the restaurant's signature meat locker on display, its wood-paneled walls and unparalleled collection of photographs and memorabilia.

"Gallagher's is steeped in the kind of character that comes from its history, its boys' club atmosphere, and the powerful people who fill the tables. This is where some of last century's biggest business deals were cut, and it's still happening today. I'm very pleased to be a part of their business and proud to have had our work recognized. It's a tribute to the creative team at May Sky and to the staff of Gallaghers."

According to Press, the campaign captures all of the color and tradition of Gallagher's history, and re-defines the eatery it for this new generation of business leaders. May Sky Inc. won the Gallagher's Steak House account in January, 2004.

This past year, May Sky Inc. was awarded two national awards for advertising excellence. The agency won the prestigious Dalton Pen Communications Award of Honor in Advertising for their $1 million "I want to start. Now."
