NFL Alumni Reach Out To American Football Fans Around the World
Global Digital Broadcast sign National Football League Alumni to IPTV network
[ClickPress, Thu Apr 12 2007] UK-based internet protocol television (IPTV) company, Global Digital Broadcast (GDB) (http://www.gdbtv.com), has signed an exclusive deal to host an internet protocol television (IPTV) channel for America’s National Football League Alumni (NFLA) (http://www.nflalumni.org). ‘Hall of Famers’ who support the NFL Alumni include Tony Dungy; Troy Aikman; Don Shula; Shaun Alexander and also music superstar Stevie Wonder.
The American football ‘veteran’s club’ met with GDB at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas earlier this year and has linked the deal with Atlanta-based production company, One MMC, Inc. The NFLA’s channel will include interviews, reality shows and ‘where are they now’ programmes, in addition to live broadcast and archive footage of American football, baseball, golf, basketball and ice hockey.
Dr. Joe Profit, president of the NFLA Atlanta, says; “Microsoft’s Bill Gates and Apple’s Steve Jobs may play for different teams, but both have weighed in on their vision of the future and it is IPTV. The programming possibilities are endless and now we have an affordable and effective method to broadcast our content.”
Profit also intends to use the channel to raise awareness of the NFLA’s own charity work and partnerships with other organisations, such as Cystic Fibrosis and the ‘Legends and Kids’ programme. He continues; “Our ‘Caring for Kids’ mission is paramount in everything we do”.
Mr. David Wray, co-founder of GDB, says; “For the first time ever, Americans globally will be able to watch the best in US sports and we welcome NFL Alumni onto our network”.
