TEMPE, Ariz./SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY--Aug. 18, 2005--DRM Networks, a Digital Rights Management (DRM) License Clearing House, announced today that it is providing Wurld Media with DRM protection for content traded on its recently launched peer-to-peer (P2P) network, Peer Impact ™.

Peer Impact is the first P2P to sign agreements with all four major music labels, as well as several independent music labels. The service, launched on August 5, has more than 500,000 digitally protected music tracks available on its network

With a system that includes DRM Networks solutions, Peer Impact is able to offer content on its network that is protected from potential piracy as well as content in unprotected format. . DRM Networks provides a set of advanced technologies that enable content owners to protect their digital media by encrypting content and securing access only to those who have obtained the rights to use that content. Windows Media® Rights Management has become the standard for the deployment of digital media for online distribution channels and is compatible with Windows Media 9 and 10, as well as most brands of portable devices.

DRM Networks also assists Peer Impact in implementing its unique business model that not only offers protected content on a peer-to-peer network, but also rewards users. Under this model, Peer Impact users are "paid redistributors" of legal content and can earn credit toward future purchases of digital media through the Peer Impact network.

"We are honored to provide our proven technology for use by Peer Impact and are confident that our Rights Management system will not only serve Peer Impact well, but advance its potential considerably," said Randall Crockett, Vice President of Operations for DRM Networks. "Our system was built, in large part, to accommodate unique ideas for content distribution-- a perfect fit as Peer Impact expands beyond music media into other digital content distribution."

"As the first P2P in history to sell content from all four major record labels and many independents, we have developed a system that is unlike anything ever deployed before," said Kirk Feathers, President and Chief Technology Officer of Wurld Media. "Many rights holders desire security measures beyond only providing a safe and secure network. The experience and expertise of DRM networks has been extremely valuable in assisting us with enabling Microsoft’s Digital Rights Management solution, creating additional file level security for those content owners that require it."
