The recent survey of 2,000 people in the UK found that people were anxious in light of the new Government cutbacks especially as thousands of jobs are being slashed at local authorities, inflation as risen to 3.7% and unemployment in the UK reaches 2.5 million.
The money saving website, DiscountVouchers.co.uk, performed the survey and collected results of 2,000 people across Britain finding that 69% think that the Government are hiding the true extent of the planned cutbacks and 84% are very worried about the cuts planned.
Director and spokesperson for DiscountVouchers.co.uk, Mr Simon Terry commented about the survey: "With thousands of jobs being slashed at county councils and inflation rising, it is causing people to be worried about their finances and employment, showing that Government cutbacks are affecting everyone."
Only 10% of people said in the survey they wouldn't expect to be affected by the Government cutbacks, 11% said that they would be up to £1,000 worse off each month, and those that would be up to £300 worse off a month was 77%.
The worry for their own job security is felt by 56% of the respondents, and 63% said they knew someone or their own job in the public sector felt like it was in jeopardy due to the recent Government cuts.

Simon continued, "People are finding the uncertainty of the Government cutbacks a real concern and what impact it might have for them. The respondents believe that the Government has hidden the truth of the true depth of and extent of the cuts and therefore are preparing for worse."
People in the UK said they would prefer to see quangos, banker bonuses and MP's salaries and expenses slashed. Additionally, people said that they would be happy to see cutbacks for the following, 9% said education; 14% said public services including waste collection; 8% said policing; 21% said the armed forces; 10% said the NHS; 41% said local councils; and 68% said that the benefits system needed to see cutbacks.
