Entry in the Inverness half marathon is limited to the first 2000 participants or until the cut-off date of 28th February 2011. Registration fee is 24 pounds and includes a finisher’s medal, t-shirt, timing chip and a bag with goodies. The race time will not be recorded if the timing chip is not fastened securely to contestants’ shoelaces.

The Inverness half marathon consistently receives high ratings from ‘Runners World’ magazine and there is positive feedback from the runners about how enjoyable the running course is, and of how beautiful the scenery and countryside.

Inverness has a rich history and anybody staying at hotels in Inverness should take this time to check out other area attractions such as visiting the Old Town and seeing the many historic buildings while shopping. Alternatively they can look around the Highland Aviation Museum with all of its interesting exhibits. Participants and guests may also enjoy a riverside walk in Nairn or take a tour of the interesting Inverness castle. Whilst in the area you should keep an eye out for ‘Nessie’ the monster who it is said lives in nearby Loch Ness.
