CHICAGO ---- Customers throughout Chicagoland with coupons to Borders Benefit Days Saturday, August 27 and Sunday, August 28 will save 10 percent on their purchases and see 10 percent donated to the Tim & Tom Gullikson Foundation, which funds care and support programs for brain tumor patients and their families.

Borders Benefit Days for the Tim & Tom Gullikson Foundation celebrates the organization's 10 years of providing physical, emotional and social support for brain tumor patients and their families nationwide. The event also occurs on the eve of the 2005 U.S. Open, the final Grand Slam of the year and favorite of tennis fans worldwide.

"We know about the thousands of tennis fans in Illinois and there are even more fans of books, music and movie DVDs," said former tennis tour professional and coach, Tom Gullikson, who also serves as Foundation Chairman. "We challenge everyone who cares to help someone who cannot help themselves to get a coupon and shop Borders with their Labor Day, back-to-school and other books, music and café items, August 27 and 28."

Coupons may be downloaded and printed from www.bordersbenefit4gullikson.com or picked up at participating area tennis clubs and businesses.

The Tim & Tom Gullikson Foundation was founded by tennis professionals Tom Gullikson and his late twin brother Tim and their families after Tim was diagnosed with brain tumors in 1995. At the time of diagnosis, Tim Gullikson, a resident of Wheaton, was coach to then No. 1 ranked Pete Sampras. His family remains in Wheaton.

"What a great way to shop for a gift or buy something for yourself while simultaneously helping brain tumor patients and their families with their day-to-day challenges," Tom Gullikson said.
