A hotel in Torquay will, in many cases, put attendees within a scenic walk of the Riviera International Conference Centre, where the conference will take place.

Topics for the conference have already been announced. They are: "Management and Recommendations for Long Term Follow Up", "Perioprosthetic Fractures", and "Impaction Bone Graphing, Especially in the Treatment of Periarticular Acetabular Lysis".

This intense conference has become more popular in recent years. The organisers have even requested that those interested in attending register ahead of time online in order to avoid chaos and hassle by buying tickets at the door.

Toward this end, they are offering a discount for those who register at least two weeks in advance. Those who neglect to do so will end up paying a 50 per cent premium.

Early birds who are members of the British Hip Society will get a special rate.

The British Hip Society was created in 1989 to focus specifically on the area of the hips in regard to medical sciences. Today, the society offers travelling fellowships, holds meetings and conferences, highlights emerging hip surgeons and hosts instructional courses.

The society hopes to continue to use these events as well as its increasingly popular annual conference, to buoy discussion on research, advances in clinical practice and results from surgical procedures related to the hips and hip joints.
