Stena Line has announced the return of its Stena Express fast-ferry service between Fishguard and Rosslare, bringing travel to and from Ireland to only two hours. The vessel will commence its seasonal service from Fishguard at the start of May 2007 and will operate until September 2007.

The Stena Express service increases the range of options available to customers making it even easier to hop across to Ireland. Vic Goodwin, route director for the Fishguard to Rosslare route, believes that the return of the Stena Express will be good news for customers.

"We have seen an increasing number of people taking short-breaks to Ireland each year. These fast crossing times mean that travel to Ireland from Britain is both easier and faster for British holidaymakers," said Vic.

Under the new timetable the ( Stena Express ) will sail from Fishguard at 11:30 and 18:30 hours and will return from Rosslare at 15:00 and 08:00.

The seasonal Stena Express service, which carries 650 passengers and up to 150 cars, will operate in tandem with the Stena Europe that runs all year round which means that passengers have a combination of Fast Craft and Superferry options open to them on the Fishguard to Rosslare route.

To mark the return of the Stena Express, Stena Line has announced a summer online offer from just £80* single, based on a car and driver, with additional adults costing £17 single and just £5 single per child when booked 28 days in advance.

Onboard the Stena Express passenger facilities include a children’s play area, plenty of shopping as well as the Globetrotter food outlet and the Stingers bar.

Passengers who are looking for extra comfort during their journey are also able to upgrade to Stena Plus for an extra premium and, along with express boarding, can look forward to first class treatment all the way across the Irish Sea. With dedicated staff on hand the Stena Plus lounge offers complimentary refreshments and a selection of meals or snacks from the special Stena Plus menu.
