Bristol Folk Festival 2011 will feature over 40 folk acts that include heavyweights such as Rachel McShane, Fay Hield, Bellowhead and Show of Hands. One of the star attractions for the event will be the performances by Seth Lakeman who has achieved various accolades including being nominated for a Mercury Music prize. Show of Hands come with their own prestigious titles having picked up two awards at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards and they’ll be playing a number of fan’s favourites for the crowds.

Lakeman is set to headline on opening night of the three day festival which runs from 29th April to 1st May 2011 and the Friday is also the day of the royal wedding so fans are treated to an extra day’s holiday. The concerts mark the return of the festival after a 32 year absence and as well as the music event organisers are aiming to raise funds for the Cots for Tots charity which provides equipment for St Michael’s Hospital in Bristol.

The festival is being held around Colstan Hall and with such an impressive line up of current folk artists hotels Bristol are due to be fully booked with the hundreds of fans expected to be in attendance.

Lek Boonlert, marketing head at commented: "The return of the festival is hotly anticipated and people will be flooding into Bristol and looking for hotels which is likely to result in some places being unavailable."
