– International representatives gather to analyse the Bologna Process during 18-19 A

Published: Tue Mar 08 2011 reports that stages to the provision of a European Higher Education Area (EHEA) known as the Bologna Process will see delegates convening in Malta to discuss how the process is progressing.

Taking place between 18th and 19th April 2011, International Openness and the External Dimension: A Bologna Process International Seminar will feature the international members involved in promoting the process and how it can be implemented by higher education centres.

Currently a total of 46 countries are members, with the classification being used by higher education institutions, students and teachers in the designated regions. The EHEA aims to make degrees, doctorates and masters more transparent in Europe to ensure the qualifications gained by students from different institutions are more comparable and unified.

Originating at the University of Bologna where the initial idea was proposed, several candidates will be making their way from Bologna hotels to take part and share experience on the best way to implement the classification. The event is being held in the Maltese town of Qawra and main discussion themes will focus on ways to guarantee quality of the classification and its employability with companies.

Lek Boonlert, marketing head at commented: "With a large number of member countries involved many more representatives from each region are going to be attending to hear about the developments. Hotels will begin to fill up with attendees so visitors are recommended to leave enough time to enable them to search for suitable accommodation."
