During the school holidays at Easter the Isle of Wight Football Festival will consist of many of the best young teams in junior football who will be coming to the island to see if they have got the skills to take home the 2011 trophy. Such is the level of talent featured at the event that past tournaments have been home to a young Alan Shearer, Ryan Giggs and Paul Gascoigne.

The competition is now in its 33rd year and due to its heritage and number of teams it attracts it’s seen by many as the premier festival for junior football and is the tournament that all teams want to win.

Participating teams can enter into categories which are divided by player age, with a division for players under seven years of age through to the under 14s. The teams in ages seven to ten play in the mini soccer event while the under 11s to 14s play in the boys division.

The festival takes place on 16th and 17th April 2011 and teams will be playing at least eight games each. The matches are played at the Medina and Seaclose sports grounds and hotels Isle of Wight closest to the pitches are set to be in the highest demand.

Lek Boonlert, marketing head at DirectRooms.com commented: "With hundreds of players and families taking part this is going to see occupancy rates rise at nearby hotels. To be sure of finding a place to stay attendees should book early online."
