The 2011 Inferno Metal Music conference and festival will take place from 20 to 23 April in Norway’s capital city, Oslo. This year’s outing for the famous metal music get together will feature 45 bands and a number of new conference innovations focusing on the increasing popularity of social networking as a means of sharing idea and news about the international metal music scene and its events.
[ClickPress, Thu Mar 17 2011] Another innovation, expected to be crowded out with fans and metal music business people, is ‘speed meeting’, based on the speed dating concept. The events will run for 90 minutes, during which time everyone should be able to meet and talk with at least 15 people, giving an intensive networking opportunity. Again, the sharing of ideas is the focus.
Seminars on the current music scene and an internet promotion workshop focusing on social networking as a communications tool for metal music businesses and fans are features of the conference.
The choice of Oslo as this year’s venue is likely to be a popular one, and with venues for the activities holding as many as 1500 people, local hotels in the vicinity of venues and at Oslo Airport are already enjoying a boost in bookings, according to online market leader DirectRooms.com, who advise making reservations in Oslo Airport Hotels well in advance when planning to attend Inferno. The city is a favourite destination for short breaks as well as for those wishing to tour the famed Norwegian fjords, meaning hotel accommodation is often in short supply.
Lek Boonlert, marketing head at DirectRooms.com, said, "We recommend early booking wherever possible when travelling to a popular event. Oslo, she adds, is a great city to visit, especially during one-off annual events like Inferno."
