DirectRooms.com – Asset management in aviation comes under review in Reykjavik

Published: Thu Mar 17 2011

Being held on 7th April 2011, European Aviation Asset Management will be discussing a range of current topics relevant to the aviation industry and hearing from leading personnel from specialist areas.

Subject matter being covered is going to include risk management, appraisals, financing and leasing aircraft, strategic planning and ways to recover assets. The airline industry has recently been hit with a number of set backs due to the global recession and freak weather conditions that have resulted in the industry not being able to operate at full capacity. The meeting will then analyse procedures for developing the sector in the future to build on these restrictive challenges.

The industry is worth millions of dollars and the operating equipment needs special care to ensure it holds its value. This relates not only to aeroplanes but the other facilities that accompany their operation and so the exchanges will also feature presentations from experts that deal with areas such as maintaining engines and inspections.

The conference is being staged at the Hilton Reykjavik and many delegates are due to look for Reykjavik Airport hotels as they travel to Iceland to join in with the discussions.

Lek Boonlert, marketing head at DirectRooms.com commented: "Hotels by the airport are generally busy anyway but delegates should make booking early a priority as many more people are expected to use them for the conference."
