The A4UAwards has nominated DiscountVouchers.co.uk for its 2011 awards ceremony. The website, which helps UK shoppers to save money at hundreds of top retailers, has been namechecked in the social media campaign category. The money saving website has received the recognition just 2 years after the company’s launch.

The DiscountVouchers.co.uk 12 Days of Christmas promotional campaign which ran in the period just prior to Christmas 2010 has been acknowledged in the A4UAwards ‘Best Use of Social Media’ category. The award winners will be informed and presented with their trophies at the event ceremony on May 17 in London’s Grosvenor House Hotel.

The format of the DiscountVouchers.co.uk 12 Days of Christmas campaign was to offer consumers a new prize to win each day of the 12 festive days, with prizes to be had such as a Formula Ford driving session at Silverstone through BuyAGift.co.uk, a Go-Kart from Halfords and a family ticket to Thorpe Park from the Lastminute.com site.

Having been founded in 2009, DiscountVouchers.co.uk has since developed a large and loyal following among UK consumers, leading to it enjoying a user base of over 3.5million today. The website also boasts more than 800 retailers on its roster.

Utilising Facebook and Twitter to promote the campaign to UK consumers at large, the DiscountVouchers.co.uk scheme saw social media followers increase by 59%, resulting in the A4UAwards nomination for an effective social media strategy. Alongside this DiscountVouchers.co.uk associated merchants also enjoyed marked rises in terms of sales and revenues.
