Royal Brunei Armed Forces Day will be a showcase of the tactical abilities of different regiments and this will take the form of battle re-enactments showcasing weapons and equipment. There will also be a variety of military parades with marches and processions by the soldier units with the marching music provided by the army’s band.

The armed forces were originally established on 31st May 1961 and every year on that day the demonstrations are held and people should head to the Taman Haji Sir Ali Saifuddien from their Bandar Seri Begawan hotels where they can see the largest performances.

As part of the events for the day visitors can also see parachute shows as infantry jump from the country’s helicopters which consist of UH-60 Black Hawks and UH-1s.

The armed forces of Brunei are split into four main divisions including land forces, navy, air force and a training institute and spectators will see demonstrations from personnel enlisted in all four branches.

Lek Boonlert, marketing head at DirectRooms.com commented: "Many spectators and visitors turn out to view the formal processions and the entertaining showcases by the services. The larger crowd numbers will impact on hotels in the capital as visitors come especially for the event and hotel availability can become restricted. Earlier reservations are therefore recommended for all attendees."
