The initial podcast is a follow-up to the The Country Radio Broadcasters Hispanic Market Research and Strategy study, which was presented in March at the Country Radio Seminar. The study was conducted for the CRB by Edison Media Research. Several Country radio stations have already used the research to implement successful marketing plans. In the spirit of the CRBs growth through sharing motto, they share their success stories and inform listeners of what pitfalls to avoid. Participants in the podcast include Becky Brenner(Program Director of KMPS, Seattle); Carole Bowen(General Manager of WKIS, Miami); Steve Gramzay(Program Director of KHEY, El Paso); and Larry Rosin (President of Edison Media Research). The podcast is moderated by CRB Executive Director, Ed Salamon.
We are pleased to see the information discovered in the CRB Hispanic Market Research and Strategy study is already being put to use by Country radio. This initiative continues CRBs pioneering work to help stations attract more Hispanic listeners to Country radio," said Salamon. "The podcast is essential listening for Country radio stations seeking to include Hispanic listeners and for those in the Country music industry who want to be aware of what Country radio is doing to attract this audience."
The CRB is the 501 c 3 non-profit organization dedicated to the growth of Country radio, and as a result, the Country Music industry. When the CRB was formed in 1969 there were only about 600 Country radio stations. Today there are over 2,000 Country radio stations, more than any other format. CRB helps to grow Country radio through initiatives including its annual Country Radio Seminar, regional seminars, research studies of Country listeners, a weekly Executive Memo and now a series of podcasts of current issues.
