Trident today announce the introduction of a new 4.9" QVGA multi-colour thin-film electroluminescent (EL) display from Planar. Offering the same high performance, visual characteristics and "at-a-glance viewability" as Planar's monochrome EL product line, the new EL320.240 FA3 adds critical colour capabilities to the inherent ruggedness of this proven display technology.
The new multi-colour red/green/yellow EL display is ideal for transportation, medical, military and industrial applications that need to highlight important information in extreme conditions.
The need for colour has been a common request from EL customers and this capability has been added to the most popular form factor without sacrificing any of the unique advantages that electroluminescent displays bring to the marketplace.
Planar's electroluminescent displays consist of a solid-state glass panel, an electronic control circuit and an integrated power supply. The EL320.240 FA3 available from Trident features a wide operating temperature range of -50ºC to +85ºC, a wide viewing angle greater than 160 degrees and an AMLCD compatible interface.
The result of this solid-state design is a flat, compact, reliable and inherently durable display with stunning visual characteristics unaffected by extreme temperatures.
