Monarch Makes Lives Easier for the Caisse d’Allocations Familiales

The Caisse d’Allocations Familiales (CAF) of Grenoble is responsible for the administration and payment of family benefit in the Grenoble area. Since purchasing Monarch in August 1997 they have received a number of benefits in regards to costs and time.

The CAF of Grenoble is responsible for the management of 160,000 records, and also the regularity and the accuracy of payments. Pierre Guinchard, head of IT, was looking for a solution that would enable him to meet his colleague’s needs without any requirements to re-key data. After reading about Monarch in the press he researched the product some more and purchased a single user version in 1997. Pierre comments "It was the simplicity of implementing the tool and the possibilities that it offered which were the principal elements of the decision to use Monarch. In fact following on from the success we had using Monarch, we have gone on to identify other uses for the software."

Monarch is a desktop business intelligence application, which enables users to transform data from report files into structured information. Monarch forms the basis for a family of products from Datawatch, ranging from desktop, network and server applications to enterprise-wide data transformation and report-mining solutions. Monarch enables users to exploit the data already stored in their systems without making any demand on the IT department.

Today all divisions in the accounting department at CAF Grenoble now use Monarch to perform monthly accounting controls. Benefits that the CAF has received include the simple extraction of data, the automatic generation of management reports and also the simplicity of exchanging data between other social security agencies. As well as this they can electronically archive these documents and have received substantial savings on paper.
