SHARJAH ISLAMIC BANK HOLDS SUMMER TRAINING CEREMONY

Sharjah – September 2005 – Sharjah Islamic Bank held a Summer Training Ceremony to award training certificates to the summer trainees of summer 2005 in recognition of their contribution and achievement during their training period with the bank.

The summer trainees came from various colleges and universities across the UAE, such as the University of Sharjah and the American University in Sharjah. The program is part of the bank's ongoing commitment towards the society and emiratisation. SIB summer training strategy aims to train future employees and help them establish long and successful careers. The bank has committed itself to providing opportunities to trainees with special needs. The total number of summer trainees this year has grown by 120% over 2004.

Present at the ceremony was Mr. Saeed Al Amiri, Head of Human Resources Group, Dr. Farrukh Kidwai, Head of Quality and Process Engineering Division and a number of senior managers at Sharjah Islamic Bank. Ms. Khulood Al Nakhi, training officer at Sharjah Islamic Bank was coordinating the summer trainees' placements and commented:

"It is wonderful to see so many students from all over the UAE who are interested in learning more about Islamic banking and products. It is our hope that these bright young students will act as future ambassadors for SIB. On behalf of all SIB associates and our training department, I would like to thank all students who take place in our Summer Training Program. We look forward to future training opportunities which combine fun with learning".

The event was held in the main auditorium at the Emirates Institute for Banking and Financial Studies last Thursday.
