DirectRooms.com – Dance for Scotland at the Nevis Range summer ceilidh

The traditional evening summer ceilidh will feature all the components to make it an authentic evening. Live music from the Scottish band starts at 19:30 and they’ll then be taking the audience through the steps for all the dances.

The dancing will involve a set of specific moves and typically couples will have to line up facing each other or in a ring, and positions are then changed and partners swopped in time with the music.

The Nevis Range is a ski resort in the mountains near Ben Nevis and at the facility’s Snowgoose restaurant people can try Scottish favourites like haggis while looking out over the beautiful highland scenery.

The range is accessible by taking the resort’s gondola which is the only mountain gondola in Britain and climbs up to 650m. The bar will also be running all night serving Scottish whiskies and locally brewed ales and then at 23:00 the last gondola will be ready to take everybody home.

Visitors staying at hotels in Fort William can catch the evenings which will run every Friday from 29th July until 19th August 2011.

Lek Boonlert, marketing head at DirectRooms.com commented: "The evenings are a great way to experience Scottish traditions and will draw more people to the area causing more hotels to become booked up."
