The line up of performances is being organised by Rene Jacobs who only took over as festival director in 2010 from Alessandro De Marchi but his success at the event last year promises to bring in singers and musicians of exceptional quality.

The festival will be witnessing a premier in Telemann’s ‘Flavius Bertaridus’ which will feature the talents of Nina Bernsteiner, David DQ Lee and Maite Beaumont as the soprano, countertenor and mezzo soprano will all be using their immense singing talents to bring the opera to life. The performance will be held on 10th August 2011 at the Tiroler Landestheater.

The full festival schedule runs from 12th July to 28th August 2011 and people staying at Innsbruck hotels on 26th August can also see an opera that was performed in Innsbruck for the very first time 246 years ago.

The ‘Romolo ed Ersilia’ was performed as a special dedication for the marriage of emperor Leopold II to Maria Ludovica, a Spanish princess and attendees can see this special opera once more as it’s directed by Attilio Cremonesi.

Lek Boonlert, marketing head at commented: "Innsbruck is a celebrated event by opera fans and as people arrive for the festival getting into hotels will be more difficult. Attendees are advised to make reservations online to avoid complications."
