Ninoy Aquino day is one of the days of the year when Filipino workers all have the day off work, as with Bank Holidays in many other countries around the world. The day is detailed as a public holiday as it is used to commemorate the occasion on which former Filipino senator Ninoy Aquino Jr was assassinated.

Puerto Galera is a hugely popular tourist destination at all times of year, and for the Filipino national holiday it tends to get even busier. The resort is located at the northern end of Mindoro Island, and offers visitors some outstanding beaches on which to kick back and relax. Puerto Galera hotels can expect to be in high demand on Ninoy Aquino Day this year.

Getting in to Puerto Galera is simple by ferry from the nearby islands, and the local port connects the resort to Batangas, just a short journey away.

Lek Boonlert, marketing head at says: "Puerto Galera is one of the most popular holiday destinations in this part of the world and as such is hugely busy every tourist season. As such our advice is to book accommodation early if wanting to get hold of a good value hotel in the resort."
