The theme of this year’s conference is ‘Economic Development through Clean and Affordable Electricity.’ The conference is to be held at the Davao Conference Trade Centre on F Torres Street in Davao.

Davao is the largest city on Minidanao Island in the Philippines. There are many hotels in Davao, the current population of the city is second only to the islands’ capital, Manila and the 2010 census revealed a head count of just over one million inhabitants. The city has plenty to offer travellers and visitors; it is based on the sea and also within easy access to many mountain resorts. It has recently been named the 10th ‘Asian City of the Future’ by ‘Foreign Direct investment Magazine.’

Davao has excellent national and international travel links so visitors to the conference will find it very easy to reach. There is also excellent Internet access in the city, which will be a bonus to conference delegates.

The IIEE aims to promote the interests of its membership, while at the same time making a ‘positive contribution to the development of the Philippines’. The conference is expected to produce many interesting keynote speakers and educate the IIEE membership.
