Professor Ian Underwood, CTO, and co-founder of MicroEmissive Displays will be presenting papers at two key European displays events this autumn.

At the Society for Information Display’s Eurodisplay 07 in Moscow Professor Underwood will present a tutorial discussing micro and projection display technology on Monday 17th September. Eurodisplay 07 is being held at the Expocentre fairground near the Moscow World Trade Center on the 17th – 20th September. The event aims to provide customers with up-to-date information on a wide range of technologies and applications from high-definition flat-panel displays using both emissive and liquid-crystal technology to the latest in OLED displays and large-area projection-display systems. There will also be state-of-the-art information on the latest in image processing, systems software and display processor hardware, human factors and applied vision, and exciting new applications such as multimedia and electronic cinema.

At the Organic Electronics Conference and Exhibition, Professor Underwood has been invited to speak on the subject, "P-OLED microdisplays enter the market place." The conference, which takes place in Frankfurt on the 24th – 26th September is an international event for scientists, engineers, manufacturers and investors in organic semiconductor technologies and organic electronics.

About MicroEmissive Displays
MicroEmissive Displays (MED - AIM, London Stock Exchange) is a leader in polymer organic light emitting diode (P-OLED) microdisplay technology. The company was founded in 1999 and has developed a unique emissive microdisplay technology by using a P-OLED layer on a CMOS substrate. In late 2004, MicroEmissive Displays floated on the Alternative Investment Market of the London Stock Exchange (AIM) following a fourth successful funding round, which raised £15.7 M. Funding has been used for proof of principle, technology development and establishing pre-production facilities in Edinburgh, culminating in the first product release and commercial shipments of MicroEmissive Displays’ eyescreen™ microdisplays in December 2005.

MicroEmissive Displays has been awarded ISO 9001:2000 registration for the research, design, development and marketing of digital microdisplay solutions and is working towards full accreditation in 2007. MicroEmissive Displays is headquartered at the Scottish Microelectronics Centre, Edinburgh, Scotland and its manufacturing site is in Dresden, Germany. The company employs 62 people and also has sales representatives and applications support located in Asia, the USA and Europe.

About eyescreen™
MicroEmissive Displays’ eyescreen™ products are the world’s only polymer organic light emitting diode (P-OLED) microdisplays. The full colour eyescreen™ combines superb TV quality moving video images that are free from flicker, with ultra-low power consumption, enabling greatly extended battery life for the consumer. This enhancement in battery usage time made possible by the eyescreen™ will play a vital role in the widespread adoption of portable head-sets for personal TV and video viewing in the consumer marketplace. The innovative design of the eyescreen™, with its integrated driver ICs and its digital interface, offers product design engineers a fast, robust design-in solution for smaller, lighter-weight, stylish products of the future, all for a size comparable with the pupil of the human eye.
