The 2011 Morley Literature Festival will be bringing leading authors to the city to talk about their latest works for over a week of artistic and book related activities from 8th to 16th October. The full line up of people coming to talk at the event will be announced in the summer but last year’s show included a diverse collection of interesting characters. Some of the headline readings were from the likes of BarbaraTaylor Bradford, Will Self and Iain M Banks.

Audiences can expect an equally stellar collection of celebrities this year and the festival will also include various free workshops. Sessions are expected to include lessons on how people can improve their creative writing and how the internet is providing everyone with an opportunity to show off their writing talents.

The festival in 2010 had workshops focused on how beginners can get to grips with social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter. This year is also expected to include workshops in a similar style that will be held at venues around Morley.

Lek Boonlert, marketing head at DirectRooms.com commented: "The attraction of celebrities and authors always makes the festival popular and fans will be coming from around the country. Bookings at Leeds City Centre hotels are due to rise as a result so if attendees want to be assured a vacancy they’ll need to book at least a couple of weeks in advance."
