The Hash House Harriers is a running and social club established several decades ago in Malaysia, and today has branches in thousands of towns and cities throughout the world. The club offers locals and visitors a chance to get out and enjoy a run or a hike in nearby surroundings while meeting new people and enjoying a social – with plenty of cold beer – at the end of the run meet!

This October sees the Hash House Harries Indochina Hash – a major annual event in the HHH calendar – take place in the picturesque town of Luang Prabang in northern Laos. Luang Prabang city centre hotels are sure to be in high demand with hundreds of additional tourists and visitors heading into the historic destination.

This year marks the 13th time that the Mekong Indochina Hash has been held and each year has seen more and more visitors and participants head to the various Southeast Asian destinations. The format of the event will be one major run on the 14th and 15th of October followed by a ‘hangover’ run on the final day of the event.

Lek Boonlert, marketing head of, says, "The Hash House Harriers club enjoys a loyal membership in Asia and its Indochina events are always well attended. Luang Prabang is a smallish place which is home to some lovely hotels, but people who want to get the best value deals should be smart and book well ahead of arriving in Laos."
