Mid-life crisis? Or on a mission from God? Ask G. Robert, the self-published author who was inspired by his own health limitations as a kid. His Sillwee Wobbert Picture Book Series on Children’s Health is empowering all children to overcome adversity and live healthier lives.

Diagnosed with diabetes as a child, G. Robert (his pen name) saw for the first time that he was different because of his health. He developed renewed empathy for his peers with special needs. Later, it all came together when his nephew was born with a heart condition. He discovered nothing available that talked directly to children on an emotionally appealing level. As a teacher, he knew the best way to teach the student is to make learning fun and interactive.

Having received rave reviews from local children’s hospitals, he launched a series of books that promoted multicultural characters, heart health (exercise/diet) and love. This innovative series of non-technical, child friendly books helps all children cope and reinforces the fact that kids are not alone here. Sillwee Wobbert himself is an amazing core character, whose heart-shaped head symbolizes love, caring and hope. Wheezing Will is an African American boy with asthma. Jose, a Latino boy has diabetes. Tolerance, acceptance and diversity are key messages.

As a result, Dream Publishing was born and he presents programs to schools, libraries and hospitals. In a time when budgets are crunched, these workshops complement the core curriculum in a context of health. Recently approved by California Dept. of Education and Maryland health curriculums to fill this gap and assist teachers further open communication here.

Children identify with Sillwee Wobbert's whimsical and silly outlook to overcome stressful and trying days. Studies show that kids’ number one concern with health is how their peers treat them. They revealed it’s best to start early with all children, with or without these disabilities.

Doctors, nurses, parents and health educators rave about the Sillwee Wobbert's books and positive message they provide to everyone about the miracle of coping and the Golden Rule.

Topics in Sillwee Wobbert's books include the heart, asthma and diabetes. Lyles is coordinating with schools, children’s hospitals, libraries and affiliate charities, like faith-based groups and associations, to create needed support for those less fortunate struggling with these issues.
