DATELINE: BRAINTREE, MA... Join more than 300 walkers of all ages and raise money for South Shore Elder Services’ Meals on Wheels program at the "Stroll the Mall for Meals on Wheels" event at the South Shore Plaza on Sunday, November 6th. The Braintree based South Shore Elder Services is a private, non-profit agency that provides seniors and caregivers in the South Shore area with valuable resources and services.

Bring your friends, family and neighbors to walk at this fun event for kids and adults while raising money for a good cause. All pledge money raised supports South Shore Elder Services’ Meals on Wheels program, which provides hot noontime meals to more than 1,300 homebound elders every day across the South Shore.

"Stroll the Mall for Meals on Wheels" is a 5K walkathon that will be held at the South Shore Plaza, located at 250 Granite Street in Braintree on November 6th. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., and folks will stroll from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Prizes and More
The first 100 walkers who raise at least $50 will receive a free long-sleeve t-shirt. Prizes will be given to the top three adults and top three children who raise the most money. The youth team that raises the most money will win a pizza party.

Children who accompany their parent or guardian will be able to make Thanksgiving Cards for elders; meet "Sir Lunch A Lot", the dinosaur mascot; color a magnet and see clowns making balloon animals. The first 200 children will receive a free dinosaur t-shirt.

Students who participate in the walk will receive four Community Service hours.
