Internationally celebrated educator and author Michele Borba, Ed.D., joins the Tadpole Club Advisory

San Rafael, Calif. — March 2005 – Virtuous Reality Entertainment LLC (VRE), parent company of the Tadpole Club™, is pleased to announce that Dr. Michele Borba has joined the Tadpole Club Advisory Board. VRE, an innovative company that combines entertainment with character education, recently launched the Tadpole Club, the first web-based subscription service that delivers carefully selected, award-winning films on DVD, along with discussion and activity guides, designed to help build character and encourage virtuous behavior among children ages 4 to 9.

A recognized expert on parenting and violence prevention, Dr. Borba appears regularly as a guest expert on TV and NPR talk shows including Today, The View, Fox & Friends, MSNBC, The Early Show, WGN, Canada AM, Vicki Gabereau, KTLA-5 Morning Show, Ronn Owen/KGO Radio, and Focus on Family. Her numerous awards include the National Educator Award, presented by the National Council of Self-Esteem; Santa Clara University’s Outstanding Alumna Award; and the award for Outstanding Contribution to the Educational Profession, presented by the Bureau of Education and Research. She was named the Honorary Chairperson for the Implementation of Self-Esteem in Hong Kong and currently serves as a consultant for the Center Resource Group for Character Education and Civic Engagement for the U.S. Department of Education.

Tadpole Club subscribers receive up to 3 hours of captivating entertainment on collectable DVDs for only $19.95 per month. Films vary in length and format and include live action, animation, shorts, feature films, nature programs, kids yoga and exercise and even live music performances. There is never a return or a late fee and memberships may be cancelled at any time without penalty. All DVDs remain the property of the subscriber.

Tadpole Club discussion and activity guides (provided for each film) are designed to help parents skillfully initiate discussions with their children about the virtues illustrated in the programs.
