CNP FURTHER EXPANDS UK OFFICE NETWORK WITH THE OPENING OF NEW BIRMINGHAM OFFICE

CNP, one of the UK’s leading specialist building surveying and project consultants, is further expanding its UK office network with the opening of a Birmingham office.

The new office follows the recent opening of a Cardiff office in September and is part of the firm’s continued growth strategy which has seen turnover increase by 40% over the past two years. The new Birmingham office brings CNP’s UK network up to a total of eight offices. The firm also operates across Southern Ireland, from its Dublin office, and its continental European business is handled from Berlin.

Fergus Thompson-Yates, director of CNP comments: "The office, retail and industrial sectors in the Midlands are very buoyant and so it is both logical and timely that CNP should be opening in the UK’s second largest City. This is a natural development in CNP’s growth plans, which are now being backed by major US financial and property group LandAmerica, which acquired the share ownership of CNP in August of this year.

"We place great importance on servicing clients from a local office and providing a high level of expertise which is why we have put a team of local experts together. This includes a dedicated specialist in energy to help client’s deal with demands for increasing efficiency, including the new energy certification regime for commercial buildings to be implemented by the government next year.

"This is a very exciting time as the company continues to expand both geographically and in terms of its service range. With the opening of our Birmingham office CNP is now in an even stronger position to service existing and new clients across both the East and West Midlands."

CNP’s Birmingham team is headed by Fergus Thompson-Yates, a chartered building surveyor. He has worked on a large number of project management, due diligence and building surveyor projects for funds, occupiers, landlords and clients before joining the CNP team.

Fergus is supported by associate director, Steve Hawthorne, a chartered building surveyor who has a background in surveying as well as building surveyor, Martin Evetts, who has worked with commercial investors and occupiers on a wide range of building surveying projects.

The Birmingham office will also play a key part in the expansion of CNP’s technical and environmental service offering. This follows the appointment of Andy Land as CNP’s lead specialist for energy matters. Andy joins the CNP team from Atkins where he was responsible for energy auditing. Based from CNP’s new Birmingham office and working with CNP’s technical and environmental team, Andy will be responsible for driving forward CNP’s services around energy certification and energy consultancy.

The new Birmingham office is based at the Stonemartin business centre in Victoria Square.
