Manchester-based large format digital printing company, The Image Group, has confirmed that 2007 has been the best year in their ten year history.
The record performance was officially revealed at the launch of the company’s biggest-ever free buyers’ guide.
With 35 staff, The Image Group posted a turnover increase of more than 25% to achieve more than £3 million over the year.
The turnover increase also coincided with Image Group’s move to new premises in Eccles; a newly revamped website and significant capital investment in a new super-wide format Vutek QS 5 colour digital print machine and a new Zund cutter.
Amongst the highlights of the year for The Image Group was the successful installation of the largest vinyl print in the company’s history which formed the centrepiece of the £31 million Chill Factore, which at 23,225 square metres is Europe’s longest and widest real snow indoor ski slope venue. The 12-week 3,500 square metre installation presented many unique problems for The Image Group and took six abseilers on 200 feet of rope plus two cherry pickers to complete.
The Image Group sales director Rick Jervis said, "The printing game is as competitive as ever, which is why we’re particularly proud of these latest figures. We have chosen to invest heavily in new premises and the latest technology to ensure we stay ahead of the game."
He continued, "It’s a tactic, along with an obsessive commitment to quality and customer service, which is clearly paying dividends already. And if next year is as good as 2007 we’ll be delighted."
In a year of records for the company, The Image Group also managed to smash its in-house turnaround record by outputting, printing and finishing 26 separate exhibition display items for one order in less than ten working hours using the company's new Vutek colour digital print machine. The nine 3m x 3m full-colour pop up display systems and three 2.4m Super-wide roller banners and a further fifteen 1 metre wide roller banners were delivered on time for London-based marketing communications agency FK3.
Rick adds, "There were some great highlights last year. And we’ve featured as many as possible in the new buyers’ guide to inspire customers old and new. The New Year is traditionally a time when companies evaluate printing requirements for the year. We hope our one-stop buyers guide will become an indispensable companion during that process."
