[HONG KONG 25 November 2005] Leading IPTV enabler Broadband Network Systems Ltd (BNS) will showcase a complete IPTV solution with innovative MPEG-4 standard-based middleware at the IPTV Forum Asia which will be held in Hong Kong on 28 and 29 November.

Offering superior scalability for HD and SD services for IPTV, the solution will enable operators to fully utilize the previously untapped service flexibilities inherent in IP-based technologies.

Using an innovative real-time pricing engine, the BNS solution enables service providers to create complex business rules through an intuitive and easy to navigate user interface that enables real-time deployment of IPTV services with highly flexible pricing.

"Current technologies don’t give IPTV operators many options when it comes to maximizing efficiency and innovation through service bundling", said BNS CEO Jeffrey Soong. "Our solution gives operators a truly competitive edge by opening up a whole new range of possibilities for flexible and creative service provisioning and bundling capabilities for their IPTV and Triple Play services."

The showcase at the BNS booth comprises a complete multi-vendor IPTV solution including best-of-breed H.264 SD encoders, MPEG-4 standard-based middleware, highly scalable video servers and IP set-top-boxes.

Owing to its exceptional scalability, the solution is a viable option for broadcasters even with a minimum uplink communication as the MPEG-4 standard-based middleware allows the real time multicasting of highly interactive service information over a unidirectional network.

The BNS booth will also feature key showcases by BNS’s partners Entone, Envivio and Widevine:

• Entone’s Armada Intelligent Asset Manager which dynamically and cost-efficiently distributes VOD assets to the most appropriate storage medium, server or network, based on real-time usage data, enabling every storage device to be fully utilized with the right balance of streaming capacity and storage space.

• Envivio's industry leading MPEG-4 H.264 broadcast series encoders and middleware combine to power and manage IP applications for live television and video-on-demand (VOD) services. Service providers using Envivio systems can reduce their operational costs by making their existing infrastructure more efficient while offering the highest quality video services at the lowest possible bit rates.

• Widevine’s industry leading comprehensive conditional access and digital rights management solution, the Widevine Cypher® 3.0, its third generation content security suite, which delivers pre-encryption of video content and guarantees continuous availability for any type of content, on any device, at any time.

The IPTV Asia Forum will be held on 28 and 29 November at the Four Seasons hotel in Hong Kong and comprises an extensive conference program and exhibition section.
