Dubai, United Arab Emirates, November 28, 2005: Hyperion (Nasdaq: HYSL), the global leader in Business Performance Management software, today announced that leading industry analyst firm Gartner Inc., has positioned it in the foremost position in the Leaders Quadrant of Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Corporate Performance Management (CPM) suites. Hyperion was also positioned as the Revenue Leader for Financial and Business Performance Management applications by IDC.

Gartner Inc., which published the Magic Quadrant for CPM suites report in November 2005, evaluated Hyperion on "completeness of vision" and its "ability to execute" in CPM suites. According to Gartner, Leaders are performing well today, have a clear vision of market direction and are actively building competencies to sustain their leadership position in the market.

IDC, the premier global market intelligence and advisory firm, reported that Hyperion leads the space with more than 20.7 percent market share, according to calendar year 2004 software license and maintenance revenues. Hyperion has more than double the market share of its nearest competitor who trails with only 8.5 percent, and has been the revenue leader for the Business Performance Management market since 1999.

"The IDC report confirms that Hyperion is still the overwhelming preference of the worlds most forward thinking organizations who strive to achieve the highest levels of performance visibility," said Alistair Menzies Anderson, Regional Director - Middle East of Hyperion. "The combination of our market-leading applications and popular statutory and management reporting software is a powerful advantage for our customers. And, in combination, they enable true Business Performance Management."

"Most organizations who are serious about Business Performance Management have Hyperion’s applications on the short list," said Kathleen Wilhide, IDC research director, Corporate Compliance and Business Performance Management Applications. "Hyperion’s focus on profitability is also a huge driver for the company, as it is a key element of management reporting that is on the agenda of most organizations, and is emerging as a major pillar of Business Performance Management implementations."

"Our vision to enable companies to actively manage their success has been endorsed by our customers. With the powerful and comprehensive integration of our business intelligence platform and leading financial management applications in Hyperion System 9, we have once again demonstrated that we can stay years ahead of the competition in terms of delivering market-leading Business Performance Management solutions to the marketplace," Alistair Menzies Anderson adds.

Gartner defines CPM as not only the processes used to manage corporate performance, but also the methodologies that may drive some of the processes, the metrics used to measure performance against strategic and operational performance goals, and the appropriate supporting systems. Hyperion uses a similar term, Business Performance Management, to define its solutions that are designed to help businesses translate strategies into plans, monitor execution and provide insight to improve financial and operational performance.
