Pacific Technology Solutions’ (PTS) unrivaled approach to improving business efficiency through unique technology has secured a major contract with leading accounting firm Grant Thornton LLP in Canada.

PTS, recognised as one of Sage’s top global development partners, beat off strong international competition to win the contract to upgrade Grant Thornton’s internal procurement processes, ensuring world-class internal controls.

PTS director Mike Steele says the company will implement its revolutionary browser-based purchasing system PW-Web across the 45 Grant Thornton LLP offices in Canada—the same system used by some FTSE-100 companies listed on the London Stock Exchange.

"Grant Thornton partners will now be able to approve requisitions from any portable internet device such as a Smartphones or iPad, giving them much greater flexibility in their daily work lives," explains Steele.

PW-Web promotes best practices within companies. Configurable workflows and faster processing of requisitions deliver greater efficiencies, while the system also checks budgets and routes the approvals accordingly based on funds availability.

"Our collaboration with Grant Thornton will set a clear example of the gains large companies can make when they streamline Sage ERP Accpac with PW-Web," Steele says.

Jim Bromilow, Senior Manager of Management Information Systems (MIS) at Grant Thornton says PTS was awarded the contract because the company offered an innovative cloud-based solution and tight integration with the firm’s existing Sage ERP Accpac system.

"We were impressed with PW-Web; its integration into Sage ERP Accpac is second-to-none and the web portal aspect of the product will make it incredibly efficient for our partners approving expenditure because they can now simply and quickly make approvals remotely via mobile technology," says Bromilow.

PTS’ vast experience in producing solutions that increase productivity, coupled with the company’s steadfast dedication to fast and effective customer support has won the trust of an impressive array of organisations from demanding industries including petroleum, mining, hospitality, healthcare, and not-for-profit.

Steele says PTS is dedicated to tackling best practice challenges for organisations of all sizes by using smart technology, "We’ve enjoyed seeing the same advantages of the PW-Web solution when we’ve applied it to small to medium-sized businesses too."

"It’s a versatile and widely beneficial tool that will take any evolving enterprise to the next level. This is why we’ve invested in the PW-Web product as part of our ‘Connected Services’offering."

PW-Web is a hybrid solution that enhances the strengths of Sage ERP Accpac framework, while remaining both on premise and providing all the upsides of the cloud – the best of both worlds.

This kind of mobile enablement and instant access to intelligence through iPads or Smartphones is vital in today’s fast-paced business environment, explains Steele.

"PW-Web allows us to provide the most efficient and accessible accountancy, finance and administrative systems for our clients, freeing employees to focus on new opportunities, smarter growth and the future of their companies. In the process the inefficiencies of a paper-centric workflow are removed – a liberation for many organisations."
