THE CO-OPERATIVE FUNERALCARE INVESTS IN YORK

Published: Mon May 21 2012

The Co-operative Funeralcare has invested in York by opening a new funeral home in Heworth.

Located in East Parade the new funeral home features an arranging room, a reception area and a chapel of rest.

It rejects traditional gloomy and sombre design themes in favour of warm, pastel colours in a bid to make the funeral home more welcoming and less intimidating. Featuring a new lilac and cream colour scheme, all rooms have been decorated in contemporary style, offering more relaxed surroundings for bereaved families.

Manager Philip Taylor said: "While this is a new venture for us in Heworth my staff and I have many years of experience in York helping bereaved families.
"Our beautiful new funeral home means that now we can provide a more convenient high quality service for people living in Heworth."

Based at the funeral home are funeral director Hayley Richmond who also works for The Co-operative Funeralcare in Cromwell Road, York. She is joined by funeral arranger Amy Hutchinson who joined The Co-operative Funeralcare at the Cromwell Road funeral home in April 2011 and new member funeral arranger Katherine Mitchell who previously worked in Human Resources.

The home opened officially opened on Monday, April 2nd.
