BathroomWorld decided to start another social blog on this platform simply to give their customers another medium to connect and interact with them. This is always beneficial as not everyone who shops at a specific brand or retailer will use the same online platforms.

For example, millions of Twitter users will not have Facebook and vice versa. Offering a different form of interaction, even via a blog or news feed will improve the amount of people who take notice and follow the updates.

Marketing Manager, Scott Morris explained the reasons behind having yet another blog on the network: “We’ve always been a firm believer that having a large online presence is based on the amount of useful information you can provide and how well that information is distributed. It’s all well and great writing articles about how to choose the perfect spa bath or how to unblock a sink – but if nobody sees it, what’s the point? That’s why we do as much as physically possible within the boundaries of Google and other search engines to ensure how content is easily available to anyone who searches for it.

LiveJournal has been around since 1999, but didn’t become as widely used as it is today until the late 2000’s. The LiveJournal platform is packed full of features which is partly the reason there is a lot of people using it today; it also has integrated social networking which boasts good interactivity between users.

It is recommended by the marketing department that everyone stays tuned into at least one of the BathroomWorld blogs or social media pages because of the special offers and discount codes that will be shared. However, seeing as codes like these are shared on big sites, they only run for a limited time to benefit those people who are loyal followers and customers to the brand.

The BathroomWorld website is hosted on the large Online Home Retail network at present. The OHR network already hosts 50 niche-specific websites which sell a whole range of products, varying from toilet pans all the way to cheap pillar drills and space heaters. Online Home Retail Limited was originally Plumbworld Ltd back in 1999 and since then it has been bought by the Grafton Group PLC in 2006 and received a brand overhaul in June 2012. The business now employs close to 60 people in its purpose built warehouse and offices whilst turning over in excess of £20 million per year.
