Painting to Afghanistan Art Show Opening
Christopher Baird Hennebery used crowdsourcing and a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for trip to Afghanistan. His goal was to document, via art and photography, the efforts of Canadians' in Afghanistan. This show is a culmination of his efforts.
[ClickPress, Tue Oct 22 2013] In November of 2013 Christopher Baird Hennebery will be opening his exhibit focused on the Canada’s war in Afghanistan. The show will be held at 530 Queens Avenue, New Westminster BC, Canada.
This art exhibit is the culmination of three years of work focusing on the Canadian Forces at war in Afghanistan. Christopher Hennebery used crowsourcing and a a Kickstarter campaign to raise money for the project. Christopher and his photographer, Sean James O’Mara, then traveled to Afghanistan in 2010 to photograph and paint the experiences of the Canadian solider. This solo exhibit contains large and small pieces in acrylic, mixed media and watercolor. Over twenty original pieces will be for sale as will signed, limited edition prints. The art will stay in place till the end of November and is available for viewing by appointment. All proceeds from the show will go to the new Soldiers 2 Leaders Mentoring Project.
