Competitive Landscape

Adidas was the overall leader in sportswear in 2013 with a 10% value share, and witnessed a slight share decline in favour of Nike. Adidas introduced a new technology in its online store: a virtual fitting room. With that, online shopping was made easier for the customer. In addition, the number of returns decreased as the customer found exactly the right size. Nike was ranked third and witnessed its value share increase to 3% in 2013 as it was very active on social networks and reinforced its direct-to-consumer presence.
