We maintain our bright outlook for Mexico's power sector , supported by the country's positive macroeconomic trajectory and the lib eralisation of the Mexican power and hydrocarbon markets . * In July, the senate passed the secondary legislation needed to translate the proposed energy reforms into a workable framework and set of legal processes, with a few minor amendments. This allows the government to proceed with the implementation of the energy reform that will open the generation and transmission segments of Mexico's power market to private investments - in an effort to reduce Mexico's electricity prices and enable the country to meet growing power demand. .
