There were a number of key strategic acquisitions during the review period which impacted pet products in New Zealand. Most notably, Bayer AG acquired the Auckland-based Bomac Group in 2010. Prior to the acquisition, Bomac was New Zealand’s largest privately owned animal health company. Bomac manufactures more than 290 production animal, equine and companion animal products for sale within New Zealand and overseas.
