Destin, Florida, known for its emerald waters, white sands and friendly locals, has become a destination for all species of vacationers. Beach bums, golf gurus, shop-til-ya’-droppers, and outdoor enthusiasts migrate to the coastal area for its abundance of ridiculously beautiful vistas and its profusion of festivities. Content with any reason to throw a beach bash, several outdoor entertainment venues will be hosting Mardis Gras celebrations.

Harbor Walk Village meets New Orleans for the 7th Annual Mardis Gras Parade on February 7th when hundreds of glittering parade floats will make their way down the Destin Harbor Boardwalk from AJ's Seafood and Oyster Bar to the west end of HarborWalk Village. Party goers will be delighted by street performers, brass bands, moon pies and colorful beads.

Further 2015 Mardis Gras revelries include the Fat Tuesday Baytowne Bash Parade on February 17th to be characterized by colorful floats, golf carts, pick-up trucks and marchers dressed up in their New Orleans best. Before the Baytowne Bash however, the Destin Commons has a family-fun event planned for February 13th. The Commons affair will feature live entertainment by Jones and Company accompanied by some of the most dazzling masquerade masks this side of New Orleans. Edgewater Beach Condominium offers conveniently located vacation rentals for visitors looking to enjoy the full schedule of events and the sunny weather.

Another highly anticipated event, the 26th annual Sandestin Gumbo Festival is scheduled for Saturday February 14th. Celebrity judges will award the area’s best gumbo while festival attendees can cast their vote for the ‘People’s Choice’ award. Live music, children’s activities and the most imaginative recipes around will distinguish this culinary spectacular. Foodies and local industry proponents are also looking forward to a new Saturday staple- the Grand Boulevard Farmers' Market. Locally grown produce, honey, grass-fed beef, gourmet spreads and homemade soaps will showcase the bounty of the Emerald Coast.
