Jim Mallon, managing partner of Jack Astor’s Bar and Grill (www.jackastors.com) located at 2300 Walnut St. in Cary, has announced that the restaurant will host a bartender competition on Wednesday, June 4 at 7 p.m. Participants in the competition will showcase their skills, dance steps and new drink inventions in an event that has been a part of Jack Astor’s tradition for eight years. Admission is $10 and proceeds will be donated to The V Foundation for Cancer Research. Tickets can be purchased at the door or in advance at the restaurant during normal business hours.
