Even if store-based retailing had most value sales, the small base of non-store sales was reflected in higher growth rates that are expected to develop positively during the forecast period.

Competitive Landscape

Once again in 2014, Nuvó Cosméticos SA and Cosméticos Avon de Uruguay SA, which dominate direct sales, continue leading non-store retailing sales with respective value shares of 17% and 11%. Nuvó Cosméticos SA, a domestic company present in the local market since 1984, was acquired in 2005 by Tupperware Brands and reintroduced Tupperware products the same year. The successful combination of beauty and personal care products plus Tupperware’s housewares maintained Nuvó Cosméticos SA as the leading direct seller and non-store retailer over the review period. Henderson & Cía SA (Tienda Inglesa), leading internet sales, ranks third with a 10% value share in 2014.
