Herbalife Internacional de México had a strong lead in weight management in 2014, with a 41% value share, followed by Genomma Lab Internacional with only a 3% value share. As previously mentioned, Herbalife’s strategy of its Nutrition Clubs is the key driver to attract more consumers, and improvements to its distribution strategies increased the brand’s penetration. Herbalife has products in the three main categories of weight management products; meal replacement slimming is the most important, with an 87% value share. Genomma Lab participates in weight loss supplements with its brand Metaboltonics; this category is highly fragmented, mainly amongst small domestic and international competitors.
