Key suppliers mainly offered cocoa-based products and the whole category was known as cocoa powder in the country.

Competitive Landscape

Parand Chocolate remained the leader in other hot drinks in 2014, accounting for a 41% retail value share. The company has been present in the category for many years with its cocoa powder and increased its value share in recent years, especially after the complete withdrawal of Nestlé’s Nesquik cocoa powder in 2012. The company’s key brand was Farmand, which was available in the majority of grocery outlets at reasonable prices, especially when compared to expensive imported brands and smuggled items.
