Procter & Gamble was the leading player in 2014 with a retail value share of 52%. The company is represented by the Always, Naturella, Discreet and Tampax brands, which are well known in Lithuania. Always, which accounts for more than half of the company’s retail value sales, is the most popular brand within sanitary protection, which enjoys wide availability across the country, a loyal consumer base and high brand awareness among Lithuanian women. However, with rising concerns regarding the towels’ naturalness (some consumers complained about plastic-based towels), value sales of Always decreased by 1% in current terms in 2014. However, for the same reason its other well-known brand Naturella recorded an increase of 11% in retail value terms in 2014.
