Bulgarian household purchasing power has been bolstered over Q115 due to low global oil prices and strong real wage growth. This has stoked demand-side inflationary pressures as evidenced by the consumer price index (CPI) registering positive year-on-year (y-o-y) growth for the first time in 19 months in March 2015. CPI in March came in at 0.1% y-o-y and we forecast consumer price inflation to remain around this level over the course of 2015, reaching 0.3% by year-end. As the chart below illustrates, services price inflation has been the component within the consumer price basket that has driven the return to positive price growth, suggesting growing demand- side pressures.
